10-Week Kids Anti-Bullying Jiu Jitsu Course

Confidence. Courage. Control.

Whether your child struggles with confidence or just needs better tools to handle social challenges, this course is here to help.

This course is designed to give kids real tools to handle conflict—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. With the principles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as the foundation, kids will learn how to carry themselves with confidence, stand their ground, and resolve conflict with clarity—not chaos.

They’ll train once a week in a small-group, no-gi setting, get access to our video training library, and receive weekly messages from Coach Mark with powerful stories, parenting support, and real-world insight.

What’s Included in the Course

One In-Person Class Per Week

Fridays at 5:00 PM, your child will join a focused, 45-minute class led by Coach Mark. These small group sessions are capped at 6 students so every child gets hands-on coaching, personal feedback, and space to grow.

We don’t just teach moves—we teach awareness, posture, voice, and mindset. The techniques your child will learn are designed to stop a bully without throwing a punch. They’ll feel safer, stronger, and more in control—without becoming aggressive or reactive.

Full access to our digital course

Every family enrolled in the program receives access to our exclusive online video library. This course mirrors what’s taught in person—so your child can review at home and you as the parent can stay involved.

Every move is explained by Coach Mark in detail so you and your child know why it works, when to use it, and how to apply it safely. Whether your child needs to review a missed class or just wants more practice, the digital course is a perfect companion.

Weekly email from Coach Mark

Each week, parents receive a powerful email from Coach Mark—packed with stories from his own life, personal experiences with bullying, and clear strategies to support your child outside of class.

You’ll read about:

  • Coach Mark’s own experience being bullied as a kid in Pittsburg and Antioch
  • The moment he stood up to older kids—and how that shaped his confidence
  • How his father, a military man and amateur boxer, taught him to fight back
  • His path into martial arts starting with Uechi Ryu Karate under Alan Dollar
  • And how all of this fuels his deep hatred of bullying and his mission to protect others

These messages are more than updates—they’re lessons in mindset, courage, and resilience for the whole family.

Jiu Jitsu is the only martial art that teaches kids how to control a situation—not just strike. Punches and kicks require power and precision, but most kids aren’t strong enough to knock out a bully. Instead, they’ll learn how to:

  • Use leverage instead of force
  • Control a bully with a pin or clinch
  • Stay calm under pressure
  • End a conflict without violence

This course focuses on real-life situations—not tournaments or sport competition. It’s about keeping kids safe, prepared, and empowered when it matters most.

Why Jiu Jitsu Is the Best Martial Art for Kids

Training Schedule

Kids Anti-Bullying meets once per week:

Fridays at 5:00 PM

Visit our Training Schedule for updates and availability.

This course will teach your child how to:

  • Identify and de-escalate bullying behavior
  • Project confidence through posture and voice
  • Escape grabs, clinches, and pins using technique—not size
  • Takedown a bully and control them safely on the ground
  • Talk a bully down while maintaining control—stopping the fight before it escalates
  • Submit a bully if absolutely necessary—with safety and control

No gi is required. Students just need clean, fitted athletic clothing.

This class can be taken as a standalone course or added to our regular kids' jiu jitsu membership. (Regular kids' classes require a gi and offer sport-based training.)

Meet Your Instructor

Coach Mark is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under 5-time world champion and Vale Tudo fighter Eduardo Rocha, and holds a junior shodon (youth black belt with brown stripe) in Uechi Ryu Karate under Sensei Alan Dollar—a U.S. Marine and bare-knuckle fighter trained in Okinawa.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Coach Mark combines technical precision with real-life wisdom. He grew up in tough neighborhoods and was bullied by older kids, but with the guidance of his father—a boxer and military man—and his martial arts mentors, he learned to fight back with honor and discipline.

“I come from a family of warriors. I wasn’t afraid to stand up to bullies, even when it meant taking a few hits. Now I help kids find their own courage, not through violence, but through real skill and confidence.”

Coach Mark’s mission is to equip kids with the tools they need to walk through life with strength, clarity, and compassion.

Real Growth Through Jiu Jitsu

Coach Mark has taught me how to protect myself. I talk with him about interactions I have with other people in my life and he helps me to figure out how to go about situations when people are pushing the boundaries. I love jiu jitsu and my teammates!

  • Can my child join mid-course?

Yes! The curriculum loops every 10 weeks, so your child can jump in at any point and experience the full cycle.

  • Do we need to buy a gi (uniform)?

Nope! This course is taught in a no-gi setting. Fitted athletic clothing is all that’s needed.

  • What age group is this course for?

The course is ideal for kids age 5–10. If you're not sure if it's the right fit, just reach out—we’ll help you decide.

  • What happens after the 10 weeks?

Your child can repeat the course, move into our regular kids’ jiu jitsu classes, or continue with both.
